Refugee Support

Be part of a team that assist with settling refugees, individuals and families into the Albury/Wodonga area by providing social contact, accepting their hospitality, being alert to their needs and offering the hand of friendship.

Driver Mentors

Do you enjoy driving and have good driving skills? Your driving experience and knowledge can be invaluable to young people. Volunteers are required to assist people in accruing the compulsory hours of driving needed in order to obtain their probationary licence. This can be a very difficult task for some young people to achieve considering how busy most families are with the working commitments of their parents. Mentors need to be patient, encouraging, supportive and respectful. Must be over 25 years and be the holder of a full licence. Training and vehicle provided.

Aged Care

There are a variety of roles available if you feel you would enjoy working with the elderly.  Listed below are just some of the various positions that are required by organisations that take care of the aged. Disability Support

Mature aged Volunteers are required to assist the Instructor in Program delivery and provide support to adults with disabilities. Perhaps you may be presently studying to have a career

Social Support

Can you provide a weekly phone call to people who would benefit from a social chat. Volunteers will be matched with a client and will call the client weekly at a mutual time and day, usually of an afternoon. The call would last between 15 and 30 minutes approximately.

Family Support Worker

Will support families in a variety of ways including the provision of practical and/or emotional support to all family members when the family has a child who has a life threatening condition. Volunteers may spend time in the family’s home with the sick child or with siblings to offer parents a break. Volunteers will be required to undertake a working with children’s check. Training will be provided for successful applicants.
