What we do
Albury Wodonga Volunteer Resource Bureau Inc. (AWVRB) recruits, interviews and refers volunteers to not-for-profit organisations, focusing on their skills, passions, and values, to guarantee a rewarding volunteering experience. AWVRB offers training for volunteers as well as to Volunteer Involving Organisations, to engage and support their volunteers.
Our range of programs, including the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) and the Cultural Exchange (CE), embraces and supports our multicultural community.
Throughout our 36-year lifespan, we have had multiple partnerships and funding relationships with other organisations and see the strength of collaboration brought by people of differing expertise. We have been recognised as a ‘best practice’ organisation (NSW State Government – Department of Communities and Justice) that works very closely within the community for outcomes.
Our mission, “Working to relieve poverty through social inclusion and education,” reflects our commitment and achievements. AWVRB currently employ 10 staff and have over 80 volunteers supporting our programs.
Considering becoming a Volunteer?
Volunteering is a way to give something back to your community or make a difference to the people around you. It provides an opportunity to develop new skills, build on existing experience and is a wonderful way to challenge yourself or experience something new, it can also lead to paid work opportunities.
